Blond in Boots

For awile now I haven't been able to draw. Everytime I tried drawing something, it left me feeling blah and uninspired. When I forced myself to draw, the end result would be way too much work and way too many mistakes. But a little more recently the artistic mind inside me started clicking away again I've been thinking alot about color and markers and how to color WITH markers. I'd also like to work on my inking, but I need new pens desperately

Anyway. I was listening to "Who wants to live forever" by Queen, and I was thinking about drawing something I'd like. Everytime I've tried drawing lately I kept saying "Man, this picture really doesn't work well with hair" or "this picture really doesn't show off the hair" or "this pose doesn't give me an opportunity to go crazy with it". So, thinking that, this image came to mind. And in less then an hour I'd sketched, inked, and colored this. I didn't really think about it too much, so I'm surprised the body came out decently. The whole point was to draw long, flowing hair in my style - which I haven't really gotten the chance to draw in a long, long time. And I don't know why, but I kind of like drawing women from the back. I think this is the first time I've drawn a character without showing the face at all. I kinda like it.

As far as color... I really didn't want to just use a bright, bright yellow. Unfortunately I couldn't find a nice true blond color amoung my markers, and even though this one is darker in real life it appears lighter and brighter scanned. Bah.

Oh... and the boots? XD I really have no idea. Somehow I felt a complete nude would seem odd and make the image uninteresting. And for some reason I like the visual style of large, striaght boots. I chose cowboy boots because of the straightness, ruggedness, and the slight curve at the top of them that softens the image. I used my favorite color brown...

All in all I like it. It kept me up until 6AM but ah well xD I promise I'll draw more soon!

(P.S.- It's not meant to be any of my characters, even if it does make sense that it looks like Kitty. It was just meant to be a blond woman XD)
