It's finally finished! Thank god.
I've been trying to draw all week, but at first I couldn't find the energy, then the initiative. Yesterday I finally got to inking it, and today I colored it and added the CG.
I was dumb and for some reason wanted to use watercolor pencils to color the picture in (I like sharp lines and soft colors). I was going to use markers, but then I just started up with the pencils.
What a deliteful disaster... At first it was looking very beautiful, and in fact the original looks quite lovely. But then I scanned it and there's where the trouble started. I keep forgetting that my scanner has a hard time picking up colored pencil smoothly, so the colors were scrawly and sketchy. I tried softening them, but it didn't help much. The colors look rough. Also, I inked the lines with a wine colored .05 pen, but it scanned up black. (DAMMIT!) Still, I think it's alright.
I like how the CG came out. I'm wondering if all the hearts and flowerpetals and such are too much? It's remaniscent of Onii's ballons in the January pic I think... but I wanted to use the red pattern frame thing with it, I like how that looks. I've always liked the look of a small picture in the center of the page and then a pattern or color on the outside of it.
There are many subtitles for the picture in my mind. "Will you be my Valentine?" is one, of course, Belinda is coyly handing the viewer a Valentine card. The other title is "The way I remember her", being from the point of view of a guy who would Belinda's boyfriend. The whole picture kind of looks like a picture inside of a designer frame, so that's kinda the feeling, yet it's a picture of a feeling that's taking place in current time. It's wierd to explain it...
This complete's Febuary. Next is March, St. Patricks Day. So far so good... but who should I do? I've already done Onii and now Belinda, but who can be for March? Any suggestions? (remember, there'll be alot of green, so consider that).
Belinda's color is green... dammit, I shoulda used someone else for this month!
