LOTS Redesigns

Something I'd wanted to do for awhile but never got around to - redesigning some of my old characters. I made them all so long ago, and I've gotten so much better now that I thought it'd be cool to take another crack at them. My original designs for many of them are pretty... weird at times, mostly because I was still exploring what I could do at the time I think.

I'd link to examples of each girl, but I'm lazy. DX

Kitty: Wasn't changed much. Her bangs are the only major change, being much less stylized and much less fluffy.

Onii: Her bangs were always pretty silly and typical in a way, the typical asymmetrical "scythes" of hair. Still, it's her iconic style and I can't imagine her looking any other way, so instead I just relaxed it and tried to make her hair look a bit more natural. Her eyes look strange here though.

Belinda: She had some of the most... "inventive" hair of my characters. It's hard to even try to describe wtf I was trying to draw for her back then! But I took it and made it workable for the part in her hair, and fluffed out her pigtails instead of those clay-like curl things she had. She looks a bit like Vanille from FF13 though... >_> Which isn't a good thing as far as I'm concerned.

Kai: Kai also didn't change much, but her silly old-Belinda bangs had to go. A simple, wavy hairstyle.

Thema: Practically an entirely different character for all the right reasons. When I originally designed Thema I was really just forcing myself to create a character without thinking too much about it. I didn't take the time to really think her through, instead just applying whatever ideas popped into my head... resulting in a pretty ridiculous and off character hairstyle. This time I gave her a very different look and dumped the crazy highlights. I will miss the long pigtails though.

Nariana: Not much changed here... more like altered. I always had trouble drawing her ponytail. I could never figure out what exactly I wanted to do with it, and most of my attempts at it ended up making her look like a bad Sailor Jupiter copy. Nariana is a character who can change hairstyles a lot though, so I just wanted to give her a simple base style. A volumous, poofy fan of hair~
